Supervision and consultation for graduate students, pre-licensed therapists, and seasoned clinicians. High-quality, ethical consultation focused on skill development, ethical practice, and professional growth. Virtual supervision also available throughout MA for social workers pursuing independent licensure.
Clinical supervision is a professional development process where pre-licensed or early-career therapists work with an experienced, licensed supervisor to develop clinical skills, process complex cases, navigate ethical dilemmas, and meet licensure requirements.
For social workers in Massachusetts, clinical supervision is required to obtain LICSW licensure, you need 3,000 hours of post-master’s supervised clinical social work experience, including at least 100 hours of face-to-face supervision.
If you’re pursuing licensure in Boston or anywhere throughout Massachusetts, our virtual supervision sessions allow you to meet requirements while maintaining flexibility in your schedule. We provide documentation required by the Massachusetts Board of Social Work.
Clinical supervision and case or practice consultation provides a comprehensive space where you can strengthen your clinical acumen, receive support in your approach and conceptualizations, and grow both clinically and in business practice. While supervision is only required for pre-licensed clinicians, it is the mission of JP Psychotherapy to promote career-long growth and clinical excellence in all clinicians.

Jennifer is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with expertise in providing both short- and long- term psychotherapy to individuals and couples seeking to address a variety of issues and mental health concerns.
Jennifer started her career working in acute inpatient psychiatry treating individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, suicidal behaviors and self-harm. There, she developed specialized skills to support crisis intervention and management, deescalation and mental health stabilization. She then spent the past several years in a local outpatient clinic providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples and small groups. During her time in this clinic, she became certified in several of today’s leading evidence-based therapies and honed her expertise in treating a spectrum of presentations, from every day stressors to more chronic conditions.

Supervisor-supervisee fit matters. We offer a brief consultation (15-30 minutes) to discuss your learning goals, supervision needs, and whether our approach aligns with what you're seeking. You should feel challenged but supported, and comfortable bringing difficult cases and questions.
Some supervisees supplement required agency supervision with additional private supervision for more intensive clinical development, different perspectives, or preparation for private practice. Others seek private supervision when agency supervision doesn't meet their learning needs. Both are valid reasons to pursue additional supervision.
We provide detailed documentation including: dates and duration of each supervision session, total hours completed, supervision format (individual or group), supervisor credentials, supervisee responsibilities, and clinical areas covered. All documentation meets Massachusetts Board of Social Work requirements.
